Callie, IBCLC, Owner of Mooch
My name is Callie Counterman and I am the owner and the founder of Mooch Lactation Co.
I began my studies to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2017 and earned my certification in April of 2021. This time was bitter sweet for me because I was in the midst of helping my husband, Sean fight a grueling battle with a very rare and aggressive stage iv renal cancer. It would be 4 short months later that we would loose that battle. But without his unwavering support during my studies and constant encouragement I wouldn’t be doing what I love today.
When you choose Mooch you’re choosing a local woman owned business, you’re supporting so much more than a business name, you’re supporting my family. And for that we are beyond grateful and tremendously value every call, text and referral.
When I am not working (lol - when is that?) I am watching my boys play football! I am a Mom to two crazy boys, Wyatt Boone (11) and Walker Gentry (9). When I’m not trying to keep them alive I am either meeting up with my best friend for lunch or pilates class or I’m relaxing on the couch with our rescue dogs.
Fun Facts: I’m a HUGE football fan! My teams are UT, FSU, Dallas and Saints! I am a HUGE dog rescue advocate and we are constantly fostering, my favorite breed = Bulldogs!
Renee, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, IBCLC
My name is Renee Vilaire and I am a dedicated neonatal nurse with nearly 15 years of NICU experience, proud mother, "glam-ma" (grandmother), and lifelong advocate for maternal and newborn care. I started my own business The NewBorn Newsy in 2025, which is built on a foundation of compassion, empowerment, and evidence-based practices. I am excited to also be working alongside Callie here with Mooch and serving families just North of the Austin area!
My passion for supporting parents and families came from years spent providing hands-on care for the most fragile lives in the NICU and being the trusted advisor and "baby expert" among friends, family, and my community. Recognizing the gaps in maternal and perinatal care, I created The NewBorn Newsy, LLC, to create a haven for expecting, new, and seasoned parents alike.
My approach is deeply informed by experience, science, empathy, and a commitment to ensuring that every family—regardless of background—has the tools, knowledge, and support they need to survive and thrive in parenthood. I look forward to serving you all and continuing to support families in our area!
Fun Facts: I have a beloved dog names Zoey, I love being outdoors and I LOVE football!
